As part of the Uptime Institute Symposium's "Modular Data Center Campus," Schneider Electric brought a 50,000-pound pre-manufactured power facility module to Santa Clara Convention Center for event attendees to walk-through the unit. The power module - which can be deployed indoors or outdoors - provides 500kW of power for data center use. The company also makes 400kW chilled air unit that can cool a data center as well. Kevin Brown, VP, Global Data Center Offer, Schneider Electric, says that the facilities modules can save initial cost of about 20 percent as compared to traditionally build power deployments. For more views, see Schneider's blog where they've posted photographs and a video of the module's arrival on site.
