American Internet Service has opened a new 80,000 square foot data center in San Diego. The facility provides expansion space for AIS, a colocation provider in Southern California, adding to an existing 25,000 square foot data center in the San Diego Tech Center. The new facility is located at 9305 Lightwave Ave in San Diego.
The new facility will have 13 megawatts of power, 1,500 tons of cooling, redundant feeds to power substations and N+1 or greater redundancy on all data center and network systems. AIS has been providing data center colocation services since 1994, and has a client list including the U.S. military (including the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Veterans Administration and Department of Defense) as well as corporations such as Motorola, Chevron, Anheuser Busch and numerous San Diego-area local governments.
