Benaroya Readies New Seattle Data Center

The Seattle market is about to get a new data center. The Benaroya Company said this week that it is in the final stages of commissioning for the South Hill Business and Technology Center, and expects the facility in Puyallup, Wash. to be fully operational in the next two weeks.
The South Hill Business and Technology Center features 56,605 square feet of finished raised floor space in the North Data Center on the campus,. An additional 60,000 to 70,000 square feet is available in cold-shell condition in the South Data Center. Benaroya also has designed space adajcent to the North Data Center to house data center containers.
“When compared to other data centers available in the country today, we believe that South Hill is at the top of the list for reliability, energy conservation, and environmental sensitivity," said Larry Benaroya, principal of The Benaroya Company, states. "Most importantly for many users today, our first phase is available for immediate occupancy.”
Benaroya says the 92-acre South Hill campus is supported by a dedicated onsite substation with 42.5 megawatts of available power, which is expandable to 67.5 megawatts.
Puyallup is located about 20 miles south of the Seattle-Tacoma AirportTac International Airport, and about 35 miles from downtown Seattle.
