Cincinnati Bell Technology Solutions has bought a 225,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Lebanon, Ohio and will convert the building into the company's largest data center. Cincinnati Bell paid $16 million for the headquarters of elevator maker Fujitec America, which will relocate at another site in the area, according to company officials.
In January the Lebanon City Council agreed to provide electric utility credits to Cincinnati Bell for the next seven years based on the size of the company's payroll. The company is expected to employ about 100 workers in the Lebanon site, approximately the same number of employees as Fujitec. Steve Herman, Managing Director of Data Center Business Development told local media the refurbishment would begin immediately and the company hoped to have the data center open by late 2008 or early 2009. The facility will include about 50,000 square feet of data center space initially.
