ColoServe will expand its facility in downtown San Francisco by 3,000 square feet to meet increasing demand for data center space, the company said today. ColoServe is the colocation division of dedicated hosting specialist ServePath, which also operated the Upstream Networks content delivery network.
ColoServe's data center facility shares infrastructure with Verizon's sole San Francisco phone switching facility. The expanded data center features state-of-the-art CAT6-enhanced cabling infrastructure designed to support the next generation of intensive Internet applications such as IPTV and allowing up to 10 gigabit per second handoffs to a cabinet or cage.
"Having a top-notch colocation facility with great bandwidth and available space in downtown San Francisco means we can offer our current customers more flexibility while ensuring prospective customers we can meet their needs," said John Keagy, president, ColoServe. "We now have an additional 40 cages available for existing colocation customers who want to expand or for new customers who are looking for premium data center space in San Francisco."
