Here’s our review of some of this week’s noteworthy links for the data center industry:

Latisys houses infrastructure for Stearns Corporate Relocation:  Latisys announced an IT infrastructure services agreement with Stearns Lending, a leading privately held nationwide lending institution. Stearns was moving to a larger corporate headquarters in Southern California and looked into a shift from capex to opex models by outsourcing its IT infrastructure. Stearns will deploy on Latisys’ Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform, securing high-density space, power, and bandwidth from Latisys’ new SOC 2 and SOC 3 audited data center in Irvine, California. “Stearns’ number one goal is to provide exceptional mortgage lending services nationally,” said Brian S. Hale, CEO, Stearns Lending, Inc.   “By outsourcing IT to an industry leader like Latisys, our IT team can now shift their focus from data center and infrastructure management to delivering the critical services and applications that result in a competitive edge and true business value.”

Phoenix NAP selected by CourseAssign, Transaction Warehouse:  Phoenix NAP announced today that CourseAssign, an e-Learning platform, has selected the data center for its hosting needs. The company cited its desire to support a fellow local business, Phoenix NAP's outstanding customer service and cost-effective pricing as significant motivating factors in choosing the world-class facility. "We are very excited to begin this relationship with Phoenix NAP" said Stephen Gibson, owner of SE Services, parent company of CourseAssign.com. "Uptime is crucial to our operation, and Phoenix NAP has demonstrated the capacity, knowledge, and infrastructure to provide a level of service that surpasses other data centers." Phoenix NAP also announced that Transaction Warehouse, a leading utility bill payment managed services provider, has selected the data center for its hosting needs.

Internap selected by Sahara Force India.  Internap Network Services (INAP) announced that Sahara Force India, a Formula One racing team based in the United Kingdom, has selected Internap's 'performance package' of Managed Hosting, IP and Content Delivery Network services. With these services Sahara Force India has increased the average time spent on its site by 52 percent, improved the website load time by 50 percent and increased the number of pages viewed per visit by 16 percent. A key goal for Sahara Force India this year was the launch of an entirely redesigned website with support for dynamic, rich media content like high-definition images, videos and other multimedia features to create an immersive experience for fans as the team travels the global race circuit. “The difference between success and failure in our sport is measured in fractions of a second and often comes down to a combination of engineering and design, race strategy and driving skills,” said Dr Vijay Mallya, team principal and managing director of Sahara Force India. “We’re also a business, so we recognize the need to translate our success on the track into a global brand with a loyal fan base. Our website is the primary venue for our fans to gather and interact with the team as we travel the globe, and the performance improvements Internap have delivered are critical to growing our following and our business.”
