Dallas colocation specialist Dataside LLC is planning to open its sixth data center in the second quarter of 2007, reports the Dallas Business Journal. Preident Jim deVenny says the company, previously known as Collocation Solutions, has filled up three data centers in the Dallas area. Dataside opened a facility in Plano, Texas in April and also operates a data center in Las Vegas. "We have about 20% space remaining" at data centers the firm operates in Austin and Las Vegas, he says. "We expect those to be sold out in 2007."

deVenny said the new 21,000 square foot facility will cost about $10 million to develop, and will feature enhanced power management capabilities. About 60 percent of the space is pre-sold to existing customers, according to the company, which said it is in talks with potential anchors about their needs and is scouting other locations outside Texas for future sites.
