After months of collecting industry feedback, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued its final report on Enterprise Server and Data Center Energy Efficiency, which was requested last year by Congress. The report recommends an Energy Star whole-building performance rating system for data centers, standardized performance metrics for data centers, and encouraging financial incentives for industry via tax credits and utility rebates.

The data center industry has been aware of the broad outlines of the EPA's findings for several months. It's a big report, and it's late Friday afternoon, so we'll have more complete coverage next week.
