Kelway Expands Cloud Services With Digital Realty Lease - Digital Realty Trust (NYSE: DLR) has signed a ten-year Turn-Key Datacentre lease with Kelway, the UK's leading mid-market IT solutions and services provider. The new data centre is located in Digital Realty's Redhill facility and will extend Kelway's data centre operations. The 720 kilowatts of IT capacity enables London-based Kelway to fully support its expanded cloud service offering and provide premium hosting space for new clients. A recent Deloitte Technology Fast 50 named Kelway as 16th in the U.K.'s 50 fastest growing technology companies.

ThorDC Ties into Trans-Atlantic Cable - ThorDC, has announced the new landing of the Emerald Express Trans-Atlantic Cable System in Grindavik, Reykjanes, Iceland which is set to be launched in December 2012. The planned 100×100 Gbps network will transform trans-Atlantic bandwidth and connectivity, enabling Iceland’s emerging data centre industry. The Emerald Express System includes a high capacity connection to Iceland, allowing Iceland based data centre ThorDC to offer ultra low latency connections to Europe and North America, the other landing points are positioned off Newfoundland and Ireland. The trans-Atlantic marine cable route survey commenced in early August and the Emerald Express System is planned to enter service in December 2012. From Press Release.

Hermes Real Estate and GCE acquire Bracknell site - Hermes Real Estate Investment Management Limited (HREIML), one of the largest institutional real estate managers in the UK with over £5.8 billion assets under management, and GCE Data Centres, have announced the acquisition of 43 Western Road, Bracknell, from DTZIM for £2.5 million. The 3.2 acre industrial site has the benefit of a detailed planning consent to develop a data centre of up to 60,000 square feet in phases from 5,000 square feet upwards. Demolition of the existing building is scheduled for November 2011, with an initial 2 MVA of power being delivered to the site in Spring 2012, and a further 8 MVA during 2012. Hermes and GCE Data Centres are offering tenants a powered shell or modular data centre on a pre-let basis. From DataCentres.com.

Interxion Announces Expansions in London Campus - Interxion Holding (NYSE: INXN), a European provider of carrier-neutral colocation services, is expanding its space and power capacity in its City of London campus. Citing response to demand from the financial services, digital media, and cloud service providers segments,Interxion is building an additional data centre (LON 2) which will offer over 1,700 square metres of new equipped space and is scheduled to be available in the second quarter of 2012. The company is also adding an additional 11 megawatts of customer power to the City of London campus which is scheduled to be available in the fourth quarter of 2012.
