In early March more than 800 data center professionals gathered for Data Center World at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, an extraordinary facility with 2,900 rooms and 600,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel was completely deluged during the recent flooding that hit Nashville, with water filling the facility to a depth of between 8 to 10 feet. Guests were successfully evacuated, but Gaylord Opryland is currently closed and not accepting any reservations as it assesses how long it will take to re-open the resort. Early estimates suggest the resort will be closed for several months. This video provides an overview of the flood damage.
