Colorado data center provider Fortrust is expanding its colocation space by 33,000 square feet, which will bring its raised-floor capacity to more than 80,000 square feet within its 224,000 square foot facility near Denver, the company said today.
The announcement follows a process in which Fortrust asked leading design engineers in the Rocky Mountain region to propose a full deployment plan for approximately 60,000 square feet of raised floor in the Fortrust data center, with the design goal of maximizing power while reducing the Power Usage Effectiveness for the facility.
Fortrust selected Haselden Construction, The RMH Group, Ivins Design, Sturgeon Electric and RK Mechanical as the winning team. The team is now in the process of finalizing construction documents, planning, and permitting for the upcoming expansion.
"The new design for our up-coming expansion allows for our customers to expand with the most technologically advanced and efficient environment to colocate their IT infrastructure and protect their data,” says Steve Knudson, Fortrust’s Chief Executive Officer.
The new space will be flexible and scalable in that it can house a single customer in a private room or be segmented into private cages or suites.
Established in 2000, Fortrust is privately held and based in Denver.
