Could that really be a data center lobby? The dramatic hallway pictured above is one of the most unusual entrances to a data center. It's the lobby of the enormous @Tokyo Corporation data center located within Koto-Ku, Tokyo.
The striking entrance hallway photographed by Alex Kane (via Flickr) is one of several notable features about the @Tokyo facility, which is one of the world's largest data centers, and also one of the roundest. The building houses more than 1.4 million square feet of space, most of it dedicated to colocation racks, caged suites, and dedicated data center real suites.
@Tokyo was established as a data center business in June, 2000 with Tokyo Electric Power Company, Inc., and INTEC Inc. as the main shareholders. Here's an additional view of this unusual data center.
