Lee Tech to Build New Harris Corp. Data Center

Lee Technologies has been awarded a major contract by Harris Corporation to design and build the Harris Cyber Integration Center, a new Tier III, LEED Silver-certified data center, the company said today. The new facility will provide secure managed hosting to government and commercial customers, the company said in announcing the project last month.

Harris said only that facility is located in the "Mid-Atlantic region" in a 140,000 square foot facility it recently acquired. Recent industry reports indicate Harris purchased a facility in Virginia. 

Harris also recently acquired SignaCert, Inc., a provider of IT compliance solutions. Harris operates some of the nation's largest secure, mission-critical networks, including the ultra-reliable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Telecommunications Infrastructure (FTI). Its information systems support the critical missions of military, intelligence, and federal law enforcement customers.

Harris' Cyber Integrated Solutions will provide customers with "an integrated offering of assured infrastructure, managed security, and tailored applications and services -- all provided as a secure, trusted, total solution," the company says. It will offer industry-tailored applications and services on a tiered structure.

Founded in 1983, Lee Technologies has commissioned critical power equipment for more than 5 million square feet of mission-critical space and currently maintains critical equipment that supports over 3 million square feet throughout the U.S. It is headquartered in Fairfax, Va., and has offices in Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles and Seattle.
