Allied Fiber Connects With DuPont Fabros in NJ - Allied Fiber has signed an agreement to connect Allied’s long-haul dark fiber system to DuPont Fabros Technology's Piscataway, NJ data center, commonly known as NJ1. This connection should be operational in the fourth quarter of 2011. With this build, Allied Fiber’s system will be able to leverage DFT’s 3-Lateral Underground Duct Bank in Piscataway, which supplies providers like Allied Fiber with fast, secure and diverse physical access to NJ1. Additionally, Allied Fiber’s network will provide a unique dark fiber route from New Jersey directly to Chicago, bypassing the island of Manhattan. Press release.

Hibernia Provides Low-Latency Access to BATS - High bandwidth connectivity provider Hibernia Atlantic said this week that its Global Financial Network (GFN) now provides access to the BATS Exchanges in the U.S. and BATS Europe. In the U.S., the BATS Exchanges handle approximately 10 to 11% of all equities trading and BATS Options handles approximately 4% of all equity options trading. Hibernia’s GFN can now provide traders from around the world the ability to connect into the BATS markets from anywhere on the GFN network, including over 120 key financial cities with an industry-leading 5-day turn-up. CENX adds Services at 60 Hudson Meet-me-Room - zColo said today that CENX will deploy its platform and offer its Carrier Ethernet Exchange services in Zayo’s data center facility located at 60 Hudson Street in New York City, one of the most densely connected carrier hotels in the world. zColo is the exclusive operator of the 60 Hudson Street Meet-Me-Room, and also manages the riser infrastructure throughout the building. “The agreement with CENX enables our data center customers to benefit immediately from Carrier Ethernet services with a leading provider, augmenting the wide range of interconnection options currently available in our data centers," said Steven Finnerty, Vice President of Sales at zColo. "We believe the CENX platform will create additional value to our customers.”

TDS Acquires OneNeck IT Services - TDS' (NYSE: TDS) latest move to acquire Scottsdale, Ariz.-based OneNeck IT Services, illustrates a growing trend by TDS to bolster their cloud strategies via a mix of internal development and targeted acquisitions. Under the terms of the agreement, TDS will acquire OneNeck IT Services, which reported $37 million in 2010 revenues, for $95 million. All of OneNeck's services run via a 12,000 sq. ft data center space in Arizona in addition to a partnership with Datapipe that enables it to access data center space in Somerset, N.J. that gives it a way to serve various east coast customers.
