Here's our review of noteworthy links for the data center industry for August 22nd:
DH Capital Advises DBSi on Transaction with Xand - DH Capital, an investment banking firm serving companies in the Internet infrastructure sector, announces that it served as exclusive financial advisor to DBSi, a leading provider of high-end colocation and managed hosting services in the Mid-Atlantic region, on its recently completed merger with Xand, a leading Northeast data center, cloud, and managed services operator. "DH Capital has done an exemplary job as our advisor. In addition to leading DBSi through this exciting transaction with Xand, the DH team also delivered when we hired them last year to source critical growth capital," stated William A. Bachenberg, founder and CEO of DBSi.
SynapSense Appoints Ryan Benton as CFO - SynapSense, a provider of energy efficiency-focused data center infrastructure management (DCIM) solutions, has named Ryan Benton its Chief Financial Officer. Benton joins the SynapSense team with 20 years of finance and operating experience. Prior to SynapSense, Benton served as CFO of SoloPower, Inc., a manufacturer of lightweight and flexible thin-film solar cells and modules. Benton also previously served in positions such as corporate controller for eFunds Corporation and as a financial consultant to ASMA.
FiberMedia Receives SSAE 16 Certification - FiberMedia Group, LLC, a data center services provider with facilities throughout the New York metropolitan area and Cleveland, OH, has received the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) 16 certification. The SSAE 16 certification demonstrates FiberMedia’s ability to exceed security, compliance and safety-related requirements for controls and safeguards when hosting customer data. Critical components to obtaining this certification include the ability to assess and reduce risk, propel business continuity and provide customers with controlled security measures.
Phoenix Children's Academy Picks AIS - Phoenix Children’s Academy (PCA), a leader in childcare and private education with over 100 schools across the country, has selected AIS (American Internet Services) to house its critical communications infrastructure. PCA chose AIS because of its proximity to its team in San Diego, its longevity, positive reviews, leadership position in San Diego, and the quality of its Lightwave Data Center. Phoenix Children’s Academy has three data centers throughout the United States, but decided to focus in the San Diego region where they already have staff in place.
