Here are today's quick links to news for and about the data center industry:

  • The Planet, one of the world's largest dedicated hosting providers, has names Scott King as its senior director, data center operations. King will oversee the company's six data center facilities in Dallas and Houston. His previous post was with Data Return.

  • Terremark Worldwide (TMRK) will provide infrastructure for the Latin Interactive Network (LIN) as it launches its new Massively Multiplayer Online Gaming (MMOG) platform. LIN says its service will be the first MMOG platform in Latin America.

  • Interconnection and Meet Me Room specialist Telx announced that 4Connections has expanded into the Telx facility at 300 Boulevard East in Weehawken, NJ. Having a presence in the Telx Weehawken Meet Me Room allows 4Connections to extend its dark fiber and managed Ethernet solutions to the financial enterprise community and telecom carriers.

  • The SuperValu grocery chain will expand its Boise data center to consolidate operations from several other facilities. SuperValu will add 34,000 square feet of raised floor space to an existing 26,000 square foot data center.
