There will be a  memorial service for Olivier Sanche, the data center director for Apple, who passed away suddenly in November. Sanche had a private funeral in France, but a memorial service is scheduled for Jan. 28 in Los Gatos, Calif., reports Dave Ohara.

Some of Olivier's friends have established a memorial fund in his memory, which will go to fund the future education for Olivier's young daughter Emilie. The fund is open for donations through Jan. 23.

Sanche  joined Apple in August 2009 as Director of Global Data Center Operations, a role in which he oversaw the preparations of Apple’s new $1 billion data center in North Carolina. Olivier also headed data center teams at AT&T, Telecity Group and eBay prior to moving to Apple.
