Momentum Advanced Solutions Inc. (TSX:WWW) said today that it has opened a new high-density data center in Toronto. The 19,000 square foot stand-alone facility includes 8,000 square feet of raised floor and has expansion capacity for up to 12,000 square feet. At full capacity, the data center can accommodate 500 cabinets, and is engineered to support power loads of up to 300 watts per square foot.
"Demand for high density, secure, outsourced data center space in Canada appears to be quite strong, while the barriers to entry remain quite high," saidd Sheldon Pollack, CEO of Momentum, who added that the company "is able to offer customers a choice of high-touch managed hosting or co-location services. Now, with our new data center I believe we have an adequate supply of space to meet our near term growth objectives."
The new data center features a 30-inch raised floor for maximum airflow, dual power grids, and fiber connectivity from four telecom providers. Momentum is headquartered in Markham, Ontario, with offices in Ottawa, Windsor and Toronto.
