Emerson Introduces 'Smart Design' Approach - Emerson Network Power this week introduced the SmartDesign infrastructure, an integrated design approach that leverages industry best practices for improving data center infrastructure performance throughout the lifecycle of the data center. Emerson says SmartDesign can simplifys the complex environment of data centers by bringing together the most comprehensive power, precision cooling, monitoring and infrastructure management technologies. It also extends the Emerson Smart Solutions benefits into data centers requiring room-scale power and cooling configurations.To demonstrate the effectiveness of these approaches, the company has developed a number of reference designs to show examples of multiple infrastructure technologies configured in various arrangements. PDI Announces Product Enhancements - Power Distribution, Inc. (PDI) recently announced several product enhancements to its line of modular data centers and mission-critical power management equipment for data centers. John Day, Executive Vice President of Sales for PDI, states “our customers have come to expect new ideas from us over the years, the enhancements that we are announcing are our way to show that we are listening. AMong the products receiving updates are the Powerwave Bus System, Remote Power Panel designed for Powerwave Bus System, 225 and 300 kVA transformers, the i-CON Modular Data Center and PDI PowerMap, a cloud-based software offering that eliminates the need for handheld meters by automatically uploading individual circuit-based power stats and securing the information in the cloud. Vizualiiz Launches, Targets Asset Management - Vizualiiz Inc. launched this week, focusing on asset management solutions. The company, founded by veterans of Amazon, announced the availability of LightsOn, which uses patent-pending 3D visualization technology to instantly see and understand complete asset details. The visual game-like, intuitive experience is part of a solution that provides asset managers with a turnkey, fully-automated approach, completely integrated software, and agnostic data capture to accommodate advanced technologies such as RFID.
