Companies including Internap, Internet Light and Power, nLayer, and SoftCom, Inc. have already joined PAIX Toronto. Switch and Data operates PAIX Internet exchanges in six major IP hub markets in the U.S. The PAIX centers are named for the Palo Alto Internet Exchange, the first major carrier-neutral Internet exchange point, providing connectivity from multiple fiber providers.

"As a network access point it is important for us to offer high-quality connectivity solutions while simultaneously recognizing the differing requirements of clients," said Ian McClarty, president of Phoenix NAP. "The Global Crossing network is designed to meet the most demanding of needs, and we are very excited to have them in our data center."
Savvis Expands Symphony Cloud to UK: Enterprise hosting specialist Savvis (SVVS) has announced that its Savvis Symphony Open public cloud infrastructure service is now available to European clients through its UK data center in Slough. The expansion follows growing demand for Savvis' cloud infrastructure and managed hosting offerings in Europe. Savvis Symphony Open is the second cloud solution available from Savvis' 37,500 square foot data center in Slough, which complements the broad portfolio of managed and virtualized hosting, private cloud and network services that Savvis currently offers to enterprises and the public sector. "While Savvis has seen growth in managed hosting services in Europe for many years, as enterprises have sought the benefits of managed services, we are now experiencing increasing demand for both private and public cloud infrastructure services," said Brian Klingbeil, managing director EMEA for Savvis.
