Here's a roundup of data center industry news from the past week:

  • Terremark Worldwide, Inc. (TMRK) said it has completed deployment of its Infinistructure utility-computing platform at its facilities in Madrid and Amsterdam, citing strong demand from current customers and prospects.

  • Fast-growing blog network b5media has moved onto new infrastructure at ServerBeach, the discount dedicated hosting business of Peer1 Networks. "Rather than custom purpose-built servers we had in our old datacenter, we have moved to plain vanilla commodity servers, which are inexpensive and easily replicated as we grow," writes b5media's Joe Taiabjee.

  • Online application provider Zoho has deployed half-depth servers from Rackable (RACK) to host its software suite, the companies said last week. “When our customer base surged past one million, it became increasingly important to find a server vendor that was able to scale with us,” said Neil Butani, vice president of Operations. “Rackable Systems’ servers are extremely efficient and their unique back-to-back architecture allowed us to increase our density within our existing data center footprint.”
