Stern is New CEO for SunGard Availability
Industry veteran Andrew Stern has been appointed chief executive officer of SunGard Availability Services, the company said Wednesday.

Industry veteran Andrew Stern has been appointed chief executive officer of SunGard Availability Services, the company said Wednesday. Stern, 52, was previously chairman and chief executive officer of USinternetworking Inc. (USi), an application service provider that was acquired by AT&T in 2006. He then led AT&T’s hosting and application services business.
Stern previously was a partner with technology consulting firm Booz, Allen & Hamilton. Stern holds a BS in electrical engineering and computer science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

SunGard Availability Services provides disaster recovery services, managed IT services, information availability consulting services and business continuity management software to more than 10,000 customers in North America and Europe. The company operates more than 5 million square feet of data center and operations space.
