Come on in. The water is fine. Just don't splash any of the servers or power cabling.
As heat loads in data centers have soared, we've heard many innovative suggestions about ways to tap the hot aisle for other uses. Whenever thermal management is discussed at Slashdot, someone inevitably suggests reusing the server waste heat to power a hot tub.
Perhaps someone at HP was paying attention. The company employs the "hot tub in the server room" as a plot device in a web ad for its HP Software and Solutions unit. The video features three sysadmins holding a meeting in the IT Hot Tub, which was purchased with the savings enabled by management software. We're not sure why they're wearing polo shirts in the hot tub.
