VMC Opens Montreal Game Testing Facility

VMC Game Labs, which provides testing and support services for MMORPGs and online games, has opened a 15,000 square foot testing lab in metropolitan Montreal.

It's E3 week, so we'll take a moment to note in an expansion in the gaming infrastructure sector. VMC Game Labs, which provides testing and support services for MMORPGs and online games, has opened a 15,000 square foot testing lab in metropolitan Montreal. The new facility will allow VMC to "scale rapidly to meet the growing need for its services to the games industry."

VMC also announced at E3 that it will provide data center support for Microsoft Game Studios' new MMORPG game Vanguard, Saga of Heroes, due out later this year. With its data center support solutions, VMC provides monitoring and management of servers for MMOGs, including enhanced storage configuration, bandwidth saturation, network connectivity, and other services to deliver reliable, speedy, and seamless game play for millions of online gamers.

"Fast, secure and reliable support services are critical to the online games industry momentum," said VMC COO Glenn Hoogerwerf. Online games rang up global revenues of $3 billion in 2005, and industry gurus expect the number of online gamers worldwide to jump more than 70 percent in the next five years, increasing to 364 million players.
