Xand Holdings, a data center and cloud service provider focused on the Northeast region, has appointed Keith Markley as Chief Operating Officer (COO), and will oversee corporate strategy, planning and all of its operations.
Xand is a data center service provider based in Westchester County, New York that was acquired by ABRY Partners in October of 2011. ABRY Partners, a Boston, Mass. private equity investment firm, has made several significant investments in the data center and communications space. In April ABRY merged Xand and Access Northeast to form one company serving nearly 1,000 customers from facilities in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
"With the addition of Keith, we've added a proven veteran with vast industry experience," said David Struwas, Xand's CEO. "Keith's comprehensive background, which encompasses sales, operations, marketing, customer support and executive leadership, will allow him to make a significant contribution to Xand from day one. As we continue to grow both organically and through acquisition, Xand will need proven executives like Keith who are adept at integrating companies, overseeing data center expansions and leading the network operation center's high level of support to our customer base."
Xand is currently expanding three of its data center facilities in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts with more than six (6) megawatts of new power and 25,000 square feet of premium raised floor colocation and business continuity space under construction. Markley will oversee all of these projects, which are scheduled for completion in the third and fourth quarters of 2012.
"I'm excited about the opportunity to lead Xand's operational team and help continue the tremendous growth that the company has been experiencing with colocation, cloud and managed services for the enterprise," said Keith Markley, COO. "I look forward to building upon Xand's long-held value proposition of providing the highest level of service to our customers."
Prior to joining Xand, Markley served as President and COO of DSL.net, President of Covad Communications' Eastern Region, and general manager for New England Fiber Communications (dba, Brooks Fiber Properties). Markley is also a former legislator, serving two terms in the New Hampshire House of Representatives.
