Piston Cloud Computing CEO Joshua McKenty, who is also former NASA Nebula Chief Technical Architect and co-founder of OpenStack, launched Piston Cloud to commercially distribute a cloud OS that is based on OpenStack, an open source framework for creating public and private clouds. The company's product, Piston Enterprise OS, was released early this year, and is now in use on several private clouds. McKenty, who recently was part of a panel at GigaOm's Structure 2012, gives an overview of the company and an update on its recent activities, including a partnership with Cloud Foundry.
