Gluster is an open-source, elastic, scale-out storage software that runs on commodity hardware. This storage software is separate from the hardware appliance, so it can run on any commodity hardware as well as on cloud infrastructure, such as Amazon Web Services. It provides the storage behind the music service, Pandora, as well as media site, Bright Cove. Recently, Gluster announced support for OpenStack. This interview with Tom Trainer, Director of Product Marketing for Gluster, was conducted at the GigaOm Structure conference June 23, 2011 at UCSF - Mission Bay in San Francisco.
