OnApp makes customized software tools to allow web hosting providers to create cloud computing services on their existing infrastructure, making it easy for providers to launch "white label" cloud products for their users. At HostingCon 2012, Data Center Knowledge spoke with Kosten Metreweli, the Chief Marketing Officer of OnApp, about the company's cloud platform. At the show, the UK company announced version 3.0 of its OnApp Cloud software, which includes support for VMware, allowing OnApp to support about 85 percent of the hypervisor market. With the new version, service providers can run VMWare alongside Xen and KVM hypervisors on the same cloud platform. Because VMware is used extensively by telcos, systems integrators and large hosting providers, this expands the cloud options for service providers - as well as the addressable market for OnApp. Metreweli also discusses OnApp's innovative federated content delivery network (CDN) and cloud storage offerings. This video runs about 11 minutes.
