Here’s our review of some of this week’s noteworthy links for the data center industry:
Latisys opens second Denver data center. Latisys announced it has completed commissioning of a new state-of-the-art data center in Denver, Colorado and will officially open on October 1st. The major expansion in the Denver market was launched last year as an 87,000 square foot facility, built with a modular design. The new data center, DEN2, is located just minutes from its existing 30,000 square foot DEN1 facility and features 14 megawatts of power, with the addition of another 10 megawatts in the next phase of development. “Denver is home to some of the country’s most successful enterprises—all of whom look towards critical outsourced IT infrastructure services,” said Peter Stevenson, CEO of Latisys. “What makes Latisys different is that we recognize that each business has unique requirements. Our power densities and technology platform give us the flexibility to tailor solutions to each customer. We are so proud to be the first IaaS provider to build and commission the newest state of the art data center in the Denver area and are committed to continually supporting mission critical business needs in Denver and nationally.”
Telecity Group selected by Figaro Classified. TelecityGroup announced that French Classifieds company Figaro has selected TelecityGroup for the colocation of its primary IT infrastructure. The company will use TelecityGroup’s Condorcet and Energy Park facilities in Paris to ensure the resilience and security of its website and back-office infrastructure. "With online and mobile now being central to classified advertising, Figaro Classifieds needs to ensure its IT environment can provide its customers and employees with the fastest, most reliable, and secure experience possible,” said Stéphane Duproz, Managing Director, TelecityGroup France. “We’re delighted the company has chosen TelecityGroup’s expertise to ensure this, and we look forward to supporting their continued growth.”
Colocation America receives SSAE16. Colocation America announced its newly awarded SSAE 16 certification from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. This designation, which is an acronym for Statements on Standards for Attestation Engagements, confirms that Colocation America meets or exceeds the requirements for controls and safeguards of hosted client data. "The SSAE 16 certification is a testament to the success of Colocation America, a brand dedicated to Access, Intelligence/Integration and Mobility (AIM): this principle defines our reputation and respect among a diverse array of clients. Backed multiple facilities and the infrastructure necessary to support our international clientele, Colocation America is the preferred standard for data support, hosting, security and IT services," said Albert Ahdoot, Director of Business Development for Colocation America.
