Six Traits of Non-spill Fittings for Low Pressure Applications
March 30, 2020
Non-spill quick disconnect couplings are designed to reduce spillage to near zero whenever they’re disconnected. They were originally designed as heavy-duty fittings for high-pressure, industrial hydraulic applications. But as more low-pressure uses for non-spill connectors emerged, it became clear that high-pressure fittings were over-engineered and too costly for connecting flexible, semi-rigid and reinforced tubing in low-pressure applications.
Today, a new category of couplings has evolved. It consists of low-pressure, small footprint thermoplastic and metal fittings that maintain non-spill performance characteristics. They are used for a variety of low pressure, fluid-handling applications that require minimal spillage, such as liquid cooling in medical devices and thermal management of electronics in HPC and data centers. There are six beneficial traits of low-pressure, non-spill fittings including:
The inclusion of non-spill, flush-faced valves
The use of engineered polymers for reduced weight and high strength
Design features that deliver low air inclusion and minimal pressure drop
Read the white paper to learn about all six advantages as well as their real-world applications.
