DCiM Solutions Buys IIS Group, Rebrands as Critical Environment Group
Formation of CEG doubles number of satellite offices DCiM had in key markets across the country

Although DCiM acquired IIS Group late last year, it waited until Wednesday to make that announcement in conjunction with revealing the combined company’s new name.
Called Critical Environments Group or CEG for short, a decision was made to rebrand the one merged company to better communicate its comprehensive service and solution portfolio, wrote the company’s new CEO (and former DCiM CEO) Mike McClain on the new criticaleg.com website.
“We wanted to adopt a name that best reflected all of the ways we improve efficiencies and ensure reliability. No longer is this industry limited to data centers. For years, both companies have optimized operations of every type of critical environment imaginable – computer rooms, healthcare facilities, communication networks, and yes, data centers of every size,” he added.
According to McClain, the new name and brand better communicates that both companies have optimized operations for all types of critical environments that include, distributed IT, computer rooms, central offices and edge computing. CEG will provide customers with solutions that address facility design; Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM); cabinets; airflow and cooling; power distribution and protection; space and media storage; leak detection, monitoring and alerting; security; and aisle containment.
“When two well-respected and successful organizations come together to combine their services and solutions, as well as extensive vendor relationships, the result is a new standard quickly being set in the mission-critical space,” wrote Mario Figurelle, CEG’s new senior vice president of Critical Environments Group. “CEG is in the greatest possible position to aid our customers with optimizing any facet of critical environment operations.”
The formation of CEG essentially doubles the number of satellite offices DCiM had in key markets across the country. Now, offices are located on both coasts and throughout the southern states.
CEG is one of more than 150 industry-leading companies set to exhibit at Data Center World next week in Los Angeles. You’ll find them at Booth #1243.
