Sold state Flash storage is a technology that has seen strong adoption in consumer devices like the iPad, and is now making its way into servers in data centers. One of the companies in this sector that has attracted a lot of buzz is Fusion-io, which makes ioDrives – flash-based storage that plugs into a PCIexpress slot on a server motherboard and offers performance advantages over disk-based storage.
