Evocative Buys CyberVerse, Adds Data Centers in LA, Phoenix, Dallas

Data center provider Evocative has acquired CyberVerse, expanding in L.A. and adding two new locations to its quickly growing network of data centers.

A relatively small player, Evocative has been growing its national platform via acquisition since last year. It’s acquired sites in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, and most recently in Northern Virginia.

The Cyberverse deal adds 1MW of capacity within the 600 West 7th Street carrier hotel in Los Angeles, operated by Digital Realty Trust. The new locations are Plano, Texas (outside of Dallas), and Phoenix, Arizona – 600kW each, both within Aligned Energy facilities.

Evocative provides a mix of colocation, private cloud, managed services, and public cloud connectivity. It’s building a national IP backbone that will link all its data centers and enable capabilities like active-active disaster recovery and distributed cloud and storage. CyberVerse offers colocation, managed, services, and connectivity.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The deal brings Evocative’s total capacity to about 170,000 square feet of data center space and 8.7MW of IT load.
