Earlier we reported Yahoo's interest in building a data center in western New York. In this video, New York Senator Chuck Schumer talks about Yahoo's interest in the area and his discussions with Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz. Schumer says Yahoo is seeking a facility to serve the entire northeast and is considering other states, but that New York has advantages in cheap real estate and clean power. He insists the local power authority is "right in the ballpark" on Yahoo's power requirements. This video from WNYMedia.net runs about 8 minutes.
