News from across the Atlantic includes funding for Facebook from the EU, Service provider FFastFill locating in Interxion London, and 10.8 million funding for energy-efficiency building software firm, Sefaira.

EU puts £10m into Facebook data centres - Global social media giant Facebook received a £10m grant from the European Union as an incentive to select Lulea, Sweden, for its location of a European data centre campus, according to The Telegraph. Facebook said the three centres in Sweden, which are due for completion in 2014 and will measure 300,000 square foot in total, will improve performance of the social media site for European users.

FFastFill to Provide Managed Market Access Services from Interxion - Interxion (INXN), a European provider of carrier-neutral co-location data centre services, announced that FFastFill, a global financial software-as-a-service provider, is located at Interxion’s City of London data centre. FFastFill offers SaaS solutions to capital market participants that require managed market access services to the leading liquidity pools. FFastFill currently provides access to over 60 global venues via the Horizon global multi-broker network. The presence of the various financial exchanges’ matching engines and access points at Interxion’s City of London data centre allows FFastFill to deliver a cost-effective, high-quality service to its customers.

Sefaira, Provider of Software for Energy Efficient Building Design, Raises $10.8m - Sefaira, a provider of energy-efficiency software for the building and building materials sectors, closed $10.8 million in funding led by Braemar Energy Ventures in partnership with Dutch-based Chrysalix SET and UK-based Hermes GPE. The funding will enable Sefaira to bring cloud-based, building physics analysis and design software to architects, retrofit engineers, building owners and materials manufacturers on a global scale.
