Google Security: No Sharks, But a One-Eyed Dog

Google has a security mascot at its Oklahoma data center. Miss G is a one-eyed dog that was adopted by the Google data center team after they found the injured canine on the data center property. "Miss G is our secret weapon," says site manager Mike Wooten.

Because of Google's focus on secrecy around its mission-critical data center operations, we've periodically joked that the company's data center security features moats filled with sharks with friggin' laser beams on their head. It turns out Google does feature non-human security personnel at its Oklahoma data center, but we doubt that this member of the security team would be found in Dr. Evil's lair. Miss G is a one-eyed dog that was adopted by the Google data center team after they found the injured canine on the data center property. Now she's part of the team. "Miss G is our secret weapon," said Mike Wooten, Operations Manager at Google's Mayes County facility. Here's more in this video from a local TV station, which is preceded by a brief commercial.
