Several data center executives from Microsoft now have public blogs where they're writing about the industry. Last week Mary Jo Foley pointed to the TechNet blog Thoughts From The Raised Floor by Lewis Curtis, who is heading Microsoft's Green Datacenter Initiative.
"This is more than a campaign to take advantage of Microsoft new products in the Green datacenter," Curtis writes. "We understand that we have to adapt and promote new solutions and new partnerships for customers needs to reduce power consumption and impact to the environment. You can't snap your fingers and spin product messages into Green solutions if they don't deliver. We've seen a lot of that in the market and frankly, customers and the press is smarter than that."
An alert reader (thanks Venu!) pointed out that Microsoft senior director of Data Center Services Michael Manos also now has a public blog on the Live Spaces blogging platform. Michael is writing about demand for quality data center managers and the need for a "Data Centers for Dummies" book, among other topics.
