Here’s a roundup of this week’s headlines from the data center and hosting industry:
Equinix selected by Go Voyages. Equinix (EQIX) announced that Go Voyages, France's number one travel agency for charter and commercial flights, has selected Equinix to protect and connect its infrastructure. Hosted at the PA3 data center near Paris, Go Voyages will have access to operators providing direct fiber interconnection to 30 regional and metropolitan telecommunications networks. “We cannot afford to have our IT system break down, as any disruption to services means a considerable loss of revenue,” said François-Xavier Patry, IT Operations Director at Go Voyages. “The physical and security features of the PA3 IBX data center, incorporating numerous security clearance levels to access the IT rooms, N+1 redundancy and multiple air conditioning and ventilation systems, offer ideal conditions to meet our performance requirements and protect our equipment."
Peak 10 selected by 3 Birds Marketing. Peak 10 Inc. announced it will be delivering its comprehensive portfolio of solutions and services to 3 Birds Marketing, LLC, an interactive marketing agency specializing in email, Web and social media marketing for business. "We trust Peak 10 based on its outstanding reputation for customer service, around-the-clock support and world-class facilities on its Raleigh campus," said Kristen Judd, co-founder of 3Birds and the company's Content director and Chief Authenticity Officer. "It’s a pleasure to partner with another progressive Triangle-based technology company so that we may provide our customers with the highest quality, most reliable services." 3 Birds will utilize the Peak 10 virtual platform for managing production environments and firewall services.
The Planet and Dallas Data Center partner. The Planet announced that Dallas Data Center, a provider of Colo by the U, is the company's newest referral partner, and joins its growing portfolio of referral agents within the Partner Plus program. "Colo By The U caters to customers who are tech–savvy enough to manage their own servers, but may not have enough hardware to fill an entire cabinet," said Tim Freeze, CEO of Dallas Data Center. "We chose The Planet as our partner to deliver our services, and our customers reap the benefits of a world–class data center that provides 100 percent uptime and a robust network, all within a cost–effective model." Dallas Data Center will refer their customers who require less than a full server cabinet to The Planet's Plano Texas D7 data center.
XO Communications expands L.A. presence. XO Communications (XOHO) announced an expansion of its metro network presence in the Los Angeles metropolitan market. The expansion will allow XO to reach thousands of new businesses across the northern suburbs of Los Angeles County in Burbank, Glendale and Passadena and builds on their expanding presence across Southern California. “Los Angeles is a dynamic market with businesses operating across many areas within the metro area as well as nationally and internationally. With our extensive network reach and broad portfolio of services, XO Communications is uniquely positioned as the leading competitive alternative for businesses’ communications and network needs," said Mark Harris, general manager of the Los Angeles market for XO Communications.
