There's been tons of coverage over the weekend about Microsoft's $44.6 billion takeover bid for Yahoo. It's increasingly looking like this will be a heated three-way battle between the industry's largest companies. Here are some of the more interesting links:
Yahoo May Consider Google Alliance: Yahoo management is considering revisiting talks it held with Google several months ago on an alliance as an alternative to Microsoft's bid.
Google Offers to Help Yahoo: Google CEO Eric Schmidt called Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang to offer his company's help in any effort to thwart Microsoft's bid, the Journal says.
Yahoo and the Future of the Internet: Google asserts that a Microsoft-Yahoo combination would raise "troubling questions" for regulators.
Microsoft's Response to Google: Microsoft General Counsel Brad Smith notes that Google "is the dominant search engine and advertising company on the Web."
