APC InfraStruxure Integrates With HP Operations Manager - Power and cooling vendor APC by Schneider Electric today announced a tightly coupled software integration of APC InfraStruxure Central with HP Operations Manager, which allows IT managers to understand the impact of physical layer changes on IT systems and business applications. IT managers can now detect and monitor real-time changes in power, cooling and environment through HP Operations Manager, thereby reducing risk, raising data center system availability and increasing energy efficiency. The Smart Plug-In (SPI) will integrate InfraStruxure Central's device hierarchy, device status, and monitored data into the HP Operations Manager environment. Press release.

Raritan Launches New Data Center Infrastructure Tools - Data center management solutions provider Raritan announced last week it launched new data center infrastructure management tools to help managers pinpoint available space, power and network connectivity within their data centers for the purpose of updating their IT equipment. HM Cragg, ITWatchDogs Partner on Monitoring - HM Cragg, a leading distributor of backup power supplies and remote monitoring devices, has partnered with ITWatchDogs to distribute web-based climate and power monitoring systems designed to provide remote IT security. Data center administrators can track temperature, humidity, airflow, light, sound, power, water leaks, live video feed and more on the web and receive alert notifications when sensor values fall outside user-adjustable thresholds via email, SMS, SNMP traps, and voice call. The interface is capable of logging all monitored environmental data, available in graphical format or as a CSV file.

FieldView, Universal Electric Interoperate on Monitoring - FieldView Solutions, which provides Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software, today announced the success of advanced interoperability testing with Universal Electric Corporation, the manufacturer of the electrical power distribution system STARLINE Track Busway. This new interoperability provides real-time data center infrastructure management visibility into STARLINE's process of supplying power to electrical loads. The combination taps the busway instantly at any location -- without causing downtime.

Data Foundry Lines Up Dual Feeds for Expansion - Colocation provider Data Foundry announced that its Texas 1 data center in Austin, scheduled to open in June 2011, is now fully powered by dual feeds from two separate substations on the Texas power grid. The dual feeds from Austin Energy include a dedicated, end-to-end underground feed, offering full redundancy and high availability.

FiberMedia Hires Jaymie Scotto & Associates - Managed data center provider FiberMedia Group has appointed Jaymie Scotto & Associates (JS&A), a full-service public relations and marketing firm for the telecommunications industry, to direct and implement its PR and marketing communications strategy and efforts.
