Raritan Introduces New Intelligent Rack PDUs - Raritan today introduced the PX-2000 family of intelligent rack power distribution units (iPDUs) for server racks. It provides real-time monitoring of data center energy and loads, as well as environmental conditions when using optional plug-in sensors. The PX-2000 outlet-switched rack iPDU measures energy usage at the PDU level and provides outlet-level switching to shut down and turn on IT equipment remotely. PX-2000 models are available for 120V, 208V, three-phase 208V, three-phase 400V, 16A and less, 20A and 30A. From press release.

SMTP, Inc. Opens New Data Center - SMTP, Inc., which provides internet-based email delivery services for permission-based marketing and email, has opened a new state-of-the-art data center designed specifically to increase the service reliability and performance of its cloud-based email delivery services. "The advent of email based behavioral commerce systems continues to drive massive increases in the amount of email," commented Semyon Dukach, CEO of SMTP. Deliverability and service improvements are critical and drove SMTP's decision to embark on our own state of the art data center." SMTP is locating its new data center at the Hurricane Electric facility in Fremont, California, with alternative direct routing over the XO Communications fiber network, and relying on CISCO and Dell as the primary router and server vendors. Viridity Software Expands Into Europe - Viridity Software, a provider of data center infrastructure management (DCIM) software, today announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with European market maker and value added distributor - CiRRUS Management Solutions. Under terms of the agreement, CiRRUS will distribute Viridity's EnergyCenter software to its vast network of market-leading reseller partners across Europe, making it available to data center, IT and infrastructure managers across the continent.

iStreamPlanet Chooses Interxion’s Content Hub - Interxion, a leading European provider of carrier-neutral colocation data centre services, today announced that iStreamPlanet has chosen Interxion’s City of London data centre to host its European Broadcast Operations Centre. iStreamPlanet is a leader in live Internet broadcast services and automated video workflow solutions and applications,and will use the Interxion facility to deliver live streaming of premium sporting events, including major European Soccer and tennis tournaments to a global audience.

Varian Semiconductor Earns $60,000 Incentive - Varian Semiconductor, has received a $60,000 National Grid incentive for data center energy efficiency. Varian recently completed a new data center to support enterprise IT operations from its Gloucester, MA headquarters. The data center design and construction administration was provided by Leading Edge Design Group who worked collaboratively with National Grid to provide the data center financing incentives.
