How will the growth of cloud computing affect infrastructure and operations? That's one of the key topics Gartner will address in its IT Infrastructure, Operations & Management Summit scheduled for June 23-25 in Orlando, Florida. Gartner analysts Thomas Bittman, Mark Fabbi, Cameron Haight and Stanley Zaffos will discuss and debate the timeline and implications of cloud computing for infrastructure and operations in one of the keynotes at the 2009 IOM Summit. This paradigm has the potential to shift the way purchasers of IT products and services contract with vendors and the way those vendors deliver their wares. However, there are also risks and barriers to the emergence of the cloud model.
What are the implications of Oracle's acquisition of Sun? Gartner analysts Carl Claunch, Donna Scott and Zaffos will discuss this in a June 25 keynote session.
On the trend front, Tuesday's kickoff keynote looks at a five-year scneario for infrastructure and oeprations, while Wednesday's keynote examines the top Emerging and Disruptive Technologies in Infrastructure and Operations.
