QTS Builds Federal Cloud Business in Richmond Mega-Center - QTS Realty Trust is a firm believer in buying huge commercial properties at a discount and converting them into data center space. The showcase for that strategy is the QTS data center outside Richmond, Virginia, where the company has just launched QTS Federal Cloud.

Online backup provider iDrive tested the concept, which reinforced the value of using custom hardware rather than quad-core servers - even if you're using 600 of them.

CoreSite is Newest Data Center Arrival in Secaucus - CoreSite Realty is the latest arrival in Secaucus, located about five miles due West of lower Manhattan. On Tuesday the company opened the doors on its 283,000 square foot facility, which is its second in the New York market, building on its original presence at 32 Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan.
Forsythe Enters Data Center Development With Chicago Project - IT infrastructure integrator Forsythe Technology is entering the data center development business. The company plans to build a 221,000 square foot facility in the suburban Chicago market in Elk Grove Village, Ill., where it will offer data center suites with dedicated infrastructure.
