  • Survey: More Companies Ready to Outsource - New data from one of the industry’s leading players, Digital Realty Trust, suggests that a growing number of large companies are turning to an outsourcing model for their data centers.

  • Cisco Rolls Out Its Data Center Containers - Citing growing interest in modular designs, Cisco Systems is making a major push into the market for data center containers. After months of quietly selling custom solutions, the networking giant today launched the Cisco Containerized Data Center, which it says will meet two key requirements for enterprise and government customers – energy efficiency and faster deployment of IT capacity.

  • DuPont Fabros Signs First Santa Clara Tenant - Announcing milestones on both coasts, developer DuPont Fabros Technology said Tuesday that it has signed up the first tenant for its new data center in Silicon Valley, and has bought land for a new facility in its core Northern Virginia market.

  • Sony to Reboot Playstation PSN in New Data Center - Sony said today this week that it will shift the operation of the Playstation Network (PSN) to a new data center as part of a broader retooling to improve the security of the service, which was shut down last week after intruders gained access to data from up to 78 million customer accounts.

  • Brocade Sharpens Focus on Service Providers - Storage networking vendor Brocade today rolled out new equipment to support “cloud-optimized networks.” At its annual Technology Day at its San Jose, Calif. campus, Brocade (BRCD) announced a complete cloud networking solution for service providers, faster Fibre Channel storage networking gear, and new customers for its push into high-speed Ethernet.
