Data center provider HostDime is set to break ground on an 88,000-square-foot data center in Orlando in the first quarter of 2016. According to a recent announcement by the company, the $25 million facility will be on a five-acre parcel of land, visible from Interstate 4, one of central Florida’s main roadways.

Designed by Baker Barrios Architects, the facility will house all of HostDime’s 130 US-based employees. The seven-story building will include three floors of data center space. With HostDime’s existing flagship Florida data center nearing capacity, the new facility will expand its existing products and serve its international customer base, which includes government clients, the company said.

The announcement comes more than a year after HostDime opened a new corporate office in Research Park, Orlando. Employees working in this office will be relocated to the new building, which is less than a half-mile from the current office.

According to HostDime, the rated facility, rated to withstand Category 5 hurricanes. will include space for over 35,000 servers, more than a dozen bandwidth providers, full redundancy, and in-line hardware-based DDoS attack protection. The data center will be completed at the end of 2016 when all new HostDime clients will be placed in the new facility, the company expects.

“This facility will be a major peering connection for companies to connect in a fast growing Central Florida region," HostDime CEO Manny Vivar said in a statement.
