INetU Managed Hosting has purchased a 46,000 square foot building in Pennyslvania's Lehigh Valley to house additional data center space and the company's new product development center, INetU Labs.
INetU did not specify the location of its new facility, but the company currently operates five data centers on its campus in Allentown, Pa. INetU said it will commission its sixth data center in the new building in the next few weeks.
The new data center will be Visa PCI certified and SAS 70 Type II compliant, consistent with the company's other data centers. Later this year, the new facility will receive a new Energy Star compliant roof that will reduce energy consumption by 20 to 30 percent.
"The expansion will support current client growth and our continued new business growth at INetU," said Dev Chanchani, President of INetU. "We are excited to have the space to accommodate our rapidly expanding customer base and establish INetU Labs, which will help us launch innovative services for our customers."
INetU has been pursuing a phased approach to its data center growth since 1996, with a client list including Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft, Intel, Northrop Grumman and Canon. INetU specializes in services for clients who must adhere to strict security measures brought on by PCI DSS, HIPAA and other compliance requirements. The company's last data center expansion was in August 2008.
INetU also has a strong reputation for uptime, making regular appearances in Netcraft’s rankings of the most reliable hosting providers.
