Insurance provider Unum will lease wholesale data center space from T5 Data Centers at its T5@Atlanta wholesale data center located in Alpharetta, Ga. The new data center is part of Unum’s strategy to add redundancy and modernize its facilities.
A Fortune 250 company, Unum is a market leader in disability, group life and voluntary benefits with 160 years of being in business. Unum is T5@Atlanta’s first tenant in the data center that has been open for business for only a few months.
"T5@Atlanta was selected because of its purpose built design and construction which resulted in a robust data center infrastructure," said Sydney Crisp, VP of IT Operations and Risk Management at Unum. "In addition, T5 was flexible in delivering a solution, which was tailored to our needs. We have confidence in T5’s ability to run a first class facility and to deliver as promised.”
Unum leased a portion of the overall square footage and power available in T5@Atlanta and currently is building out the space. The data center can accommodate several additional tenants, and T5 Data Centers is actively marketing the property. Unum was represented by Michael Dolan and Shan Gastineau of Jones Lang LaSalle.
T5 Data Centers now operates data center properties in Atlanta, Los Angeles and North Carolina.
