RagingWire's DCIM Enters General Availability
Developed with CA Technologies, N-Matrix offers visibility into power, cooling, and security systems, as well as provides capacity management capabilities.

RagingWire announced general availability of its data center infrastructure management software called N-Matrix. It is a product of collaboration with CA Technologies and includes key elements of CA's DCIM software.
It provides RagingWire customers with better transparency of data center operations. Several colocation providers have looked to DCIM as a value-add for customers.
RagingWire has been working on the solution with CA since 2013, integrating data center management capabilities such as data collection, normalization, and visualization across power, cooling, and security systems.
CA is holding its annual CA World conference in Las Vegas this week.
N-Matrix is RagingWire’s proprietary software, which integrates more than 20 infrastructure management applications. Customers use it to receive detailed power and security reports via an interactive online portal and through APIs.
Colocation customers are increasingly demanding real-time operational status, system views, power consumption reporting, and capacity management as part of their colocation solution.
"More multi-tenant data center customers are demanding continuous operational status of their infrastructure with accurate and actionable data on energy use, system capacity, and asset tracking,” said Rhonda Ascierto, research manager DCIM for 451 Research. “Transparent operations are becoming a key differentiator in the data center colocation services market."
Examples of other data center providers that created their own data center management software solutions for their customers include Digital Realty Trust, with its EnVision software, and IO, which not only offers its IO.OS software to its colocation customers but also sells it as a stand-alone product.
