Limelight sells its web content business to Upland Software, Zayo helps cloud provider Ajubeo expand its cloud hub expansion with fiber connectivity, and Fujitsu deploys DWDM gear to upgrade the JaKa2LaDeMa submarine cable system to 100 Gbps.
Limelight sells web content business. Limelight Networks (LLNW) announced that it has sold its web content management business to Upland Software. The business will now operate as a product line in the Upland Software family, under the name of Clickability. "As the Limelight Orchestrate Platform grows to support an ever-widening ecosystem of content, channels and devices, the sale of our web content management business enables us to concentrate our efforts on expanding Limelight's unique delivery optimization capabilities, where we see attractive market opportunities and enjoy a leadership position," said Robert Lento, chief executive officer of Limelight. "We're pleased to close this deal with Upland Software, ensuring our web content management customers are in good hands, while creating an exceptional opportunity for the strong team that Upland is acquiring. We are confident Clickability will thrive as a product line in the Upland Software family, and look forward to a productive ongoing partnership in support of our joint customers."
Zayo selected by Ajubeo. Zayo Group announced it has been selected as the preferred provider of fiber connectivity services for Ajubeo’s national cloud hub expansion. Ajubeo is a national provider of high-performance virtual data centers and cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS). Zayo provides fiber between existing Ajubeo cloud hub and network POP data centers, as well as fiber that enables low latency data transfer across the United States. The Boulder, Colorado companies will work to provide Ajubeo connectivity to locations in the Denver and New York markets, as well as a nnational roadmap for production cloud hubs in Southern California and Florida, readying Ajubeo for international expansion to Asia Pacific and South America. “Zayo’s is well-suited to support Ajubeo’s growing network of high-performance, maximum uptime cloud infrastructure services,” says Chuck Price, president and CEO of Ajubeo. “Zayo’s expansive fiber footprint reduces latency for Ajubeo customers deploying production applications across multiple regions and countries.”
Fujitsu upgrades Indonesian submarine cable system. Fujitsu announced that it has deployed its latest DWDM transmission equipment to increase the network capacity of Indonesia's JaKa2LaDeMa submarine cable system. This upgrade boosts the submarine system capacity from 10Gbps per circuit wavelength to 100Gbps. Installed in 2010 the JaKa2LaDeMa submarine cable is a total length of 1,800 kilometers, and is the first submarine cable system that links the five Indonesian islands of Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Java, Bali, and Lombok. Fujitsu installed its FLASHWAVE 950 multiplexed optical transport platform, providing for five-times greater capacity, for a total of 490Gbps on the existing submarine system.
