Toronto-based data center services provider Q9 Networks is investing $65 million in expanding its facilities, adding additional space to its flagship Brampton, Ontario data center and building a second facility in Calgary in western Canada. The two projects will add 3,200 cabinets to the company's existing capacity of 4,530 cabinets.
Q9 said this week that it has signed a $20 million outsourcing contract with an existing customer, which will become the anchor tenant in Q9's new Calgary facility and also extend the term of its current installation at Q9's downtown Calgary facility. The company also said that its Brampton expansion is nearly complete with customers expected to begin installing in January. The announcements were included in Q9's quarterly earnings report.
